Unable to Accept Credit Cards: The district did not have a credit card processor for student fees, fundraisers, etc.
Time-Consuming Data Entry: The district was manually entering budget codes and receiving deposits from each campus.
Additional Reporting and Tracking Needed: Individual event sponsors kept their own spreadsheets to track student sign-ups and payment collection status, creating manual processes and opportunities for error.

Accept Credit Card Payments and Manage Financial Transactions: PayK12 was chosen as a payment processing solution because it integrates well with Mansfield ISD’s existing software, especially Skyward (their Student Information System), marking a significant evolution in the district’s ability to accept payments and manage financial transactions. PayK12 is extensively used for various transactions, including student fees and fundraisers.
Automated Data Entry: The integration of PayK12 significantly streamlined these processes, automating data entry and reducing manual labor. PayK12’s Skyward integration allows schools to seamlessly connect student records with balances that require payment to PayK12’s platform. Teachers, departments and accounting staff create a processing list to auto-assign Skyward fees, and parents can quickly pay balances. Payments processed in PayK12 are reflected in Skyward in real-time. By moving to a centralized system and utilizing PayK12 for a wide array of transactions, Mansfield ISD experienced not only time savings but also improved accuracy and efficiency in managing fines/fees.
Financial Transparency and Efficiency: PayK12 has enabled greater financial transparency and efficiency, reducing the need for manual tracking and handling of cash, thereby enhancing both security and operational efficiency.
