Contactless Visitor & Contractor Check-In Helps Reduce the Spread of COVID-19

WebsiteTile_ContactlessBlog-1-1

Limiting contact with visitors as they check into your school is a necessary step to keep your staff and students healthy and reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The Raptor Visitor Management system provides everything you need to screen visitors for COVID-19 exposure and facilitate contact tracing while also enabling you to screen, track, and report on visitors, contractors, volunteers, and staff entering your buildings so you only give approved individuals access to your school.

Raptor hardware and software can easily be configured for contactless check-in as illustrated below. Raptor recommends schools follow an assisted process where your front office staff will retrieve the printed visitor badge and verify the badge matches the visitor attempting to enter. This can safely be accomplished with many configurations, including:

  1. Assisted Main Office Check-In with Raptor Equipment
  2. Assisted Main Office Check-In with Raptor Self-Serve Kiosk
  3. Assisted Vestibule Check-In with Raptor Self-Serve Kiosk

1. Assisted Main Office Check-In with Raptor Equipment

For contactless check-in, the Raptor ID Scanner should be placed at least six feet away from your front office staff. Ideally a plexiglass shield or similar barrier separates the front office staff from the visitor.

The visitor can insert his or her photo ID into the Raptor ID Scanner to begin the process. Your front office staff can complete the check-in process on his or her computer, including selecting the visitors destination and responses to optional custom COVID-19-related health questions.

After a successful sign-in using the Raptor Visitor Management system, the front office staff verifies the visitor matches the ID photo on the printed badge before placing the printed badge under or to the side of the shield for the visitor to retrieve.

2. Assisted Main Office Check-In with Raptor Self-Serve Kiosk

Raptor Self-Service Kiosks allow visitors to check-in with minimal staff assistance. The visitor can scan his or her ID with the built-in scanner and complete the check-in process on the kiosk, which includes selecting their destination and entering responses to the optional custom COVID-19-related health questions. Ideally the kiosk is placed at least six feet from your front office staff and a plexiglass shield or similar barrier separates the front office staff from the visitor.

First time visitors may take their photo with the built-in webcam directly at the kiosk. Face masks can be removed for this process as it only takes a few seconds. After a successful sign-in, the front office staff verifies the visitor matches the ID photo on the printed badge before placing the printed badge under or to the side of the shield for the visitor to retrieve.

3. Assisted Vestibule Check-In with Raptor Self-Serve Kiosk

Using a Raptor Self-Service Kiosk within a secure vestibule, the visitor can scan his or her ID with the built-in scanner and complete the check-in process on the kiosk, which includes selecting their destination and entering responses to the optional custom COVID-19-related health questions. First time visitors may take their photo with the built-in webcam directly at the kiosk. Face masks can be removed for this process as it only takes a few seconds.

Ideally there will be physical markings on the floor to maintain a six-foot distance between visitors in the queue and a plexiglass shield or similar barrier separates the front office staff from the visitor. After a successful sign-in, the front office staff verifies the visitor matches the ID photo on the printed badge before placing the printed badge under or to the side of the shield for the visitor to retrieve. If there is no opening within the plexiglass window, the badge should be placed in the main office at least six feet from the front office staff and retrieved by the visitor.
