Training for the new Raptor Security Systems is set to begin soon for the Oregon-Davis staff.

The Raptor System is a new security measure that the school has installed to provide further safety for students and staff. It is a visitor management system that enhances school security by reading a visitor’s driver’s license, or other approved state ID, and comparing information to a sex offender database to alert school administrators and local police if a match is found. It can also be programmed for matters where custody cases or restraining orders are involved. Anyone who does not have a “badge” will be required to scan their ID in this kiosk.

As of now, the kiosks are located in the receptionist’s area. Other locations are still being considered depending on the success of the new system.
