The school system has started using the Raptor Visitor Management System to make their schools safer.
Next time you visit a Cleveland City school, you will notice some changes.

The school system has started using the Raptor Visitor Management System to make their schools safer.

“Part of keeping students and faculty safe is knowing who is in our buildings at all times, and the Raptor system will allow us to do that,” a spokesperson for the school system said.

Cleveland City Schools says the system will help them screen visitors, volunteers and contractors who visit schools.

When a visitor enters a school, they will be required to present an ID. If someone doesn’t have a US Government or State issued ID, a school staff member can use any form of identification to manually enter the person’s name into the system.

The system will check to ensure that registered sex offenders are not visiting schools without their knowledge.

Once the visitor is approved to enter the school, they will be given a badge to wear during their visit.
“The Raptor System is yet another tool we can now use to help keep our schools safe. I appreciate our school board for their support of this project and our city council for providing funds to purchase this product,” Dr. Russell Dyer, Director of Schools, said.
The Raptor system is funded by the Cleveland City Council.
